My family recently went through a divorce. I say my family, because this divorce not only affected my now ex-wife and I, but also our two kids as well. One of those changes was we had to sell our home. This was a very sad and very hard thing for all of us. My ex-wife and I were not in a very friendly situation, which made things even more difficult. Kat has known my family for years and actually helped us find and buy the home that we were now selling 7 years later. I gave her several warning of how hard this was going to be and she let me know that she understood the situation and was still wanting to help us through this difficult situation and that she cared about both of us. Kat had her work cut out for her as communication was difficult between my ex and myself due to several barriers that were present in our particular situation. Still Kat marched forward. She helped us set a schedule, identify action items to prepare for the sell, helped distributed individual responsibilities (which was a difficult situation given I no longer was living in my home), she got quotes and coordinated with contractors, she spent time cleaning and organizing the inside of home to help things get done, she did regular social media posts about the home, and kept regular communication with us to keep us informed on what had/was/going to happen. All of this plus all the other things that happen behind the scenes that I don’t know about because I’m not a realtor. We were able to meet our milestones, sell the house quickly, and close on time. This was not an easy task, especially with the two individuals she was working with. We did not make it easy for her, and she still showed up everyday with a smile, a solution, and a plan. I truly am grateful for Kat. I could not have asked for a better realtor to get us through this difficult situation. When we finally sold, it was not a happy feeling because my heart ached for the closing of that chapter of our lives. But I did feel great relief, because it was another step toward completing the many steps it was going to take to get back to a place where we can rebuild. Thank you Kat, so much for all you have done for me and my family. I will miss you and Ryan (husband/side kick) so much as the realtor in my corner, and my friend.
